Satan’s Primary Methods:

He is a schemer (to deceive and tempt).

Eph 6:11
Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.

Acts 5:3
Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land?

He is a deceiver who leads people astray.  

2 Corinthians 11:3
But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

2 Corinthians 11:14
And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.

Ephesians 6:11

2 Thessalonians 2:8-11
8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, 10 and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie

Revelation 12:9
9 The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.

Revelation 20:3
He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time.

Revelation 20:10
And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

1 Timothy 2:14
And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.

In general, he is a liar and the father of lies. 

John 8:44
44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

He lies about God and has from the beginning.  

Gen 3:4-5
Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”

He disguises himself as an angel of light, and cloaks his servants as servants of righteousness. 

2 Cor 11:14
And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.

He tempts us to sin.  Matt. 4:1-3; 1 Cor 7:5; 1Th 3:5; 1Ch 21:1

He tempts us to give up our faith in God. 1 Thess 3:5

He accuses us.  Rev. 12:10; Job 1:9-11; Job 2:4-5; Zech 3:1-2

He sows seeds of evil in this world.  Matt 13:38, 39

He blinds the eyes of unbelievers about God and the gospel and snatches away the Word when it is sown in their hearts.   2 Cor 4:4; Matt 13:19 

He prowls around looking for victims. James 4:7; 1 Pet 5:8 

He is fierce and cruel - Lk. 9:39; Lk 9:42; 1Pet 5:8;

He afflicts us, but only as God permits - Job 2:4-7; Luke 22:31

He sins against God constantly and has from the beginning (rebels against Him) –    1 John 3:8-10

Jesus’ Victory over Satan

Through his death he rendered the devil powerless  Heb 2:14

He is greater than the devil  1 Jn. 4:4

He disarmed the rulers and authorities (the devil and his demons) Col 2:15

He has authority over demons  Luke 4:41; 10:17-19

He came to destroy the works of the devil  1 Jn. 3:8

Our Victory over Satan

You have overcome the evil one.  1 Jn 2:13,14; Rev 12:11

The Lord will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. 2 Th 3:3

The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.  Rom 16:20

Final Victory over Satan

The eternal fire has been prepared for the devil and his angels.   Mt 25:41

The great dragon was thrown down.  Rev 12:9

The devil was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone.   Rev 20:10
