Our meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 1:00 p.m. in the Philip S. Miller Library, 100 S. Wilcox Street, Castle Rock, Colorado, unless otherwise stated. Visitors are welcome!

Our first program of 2024 will feature Will Knowles of Creek Side Gardens who will speak about "Choosing Colorado Plants that Thrive" and making beautiful container gardens.

Castle Rock Library Room A - 1:00pm -3:00pm

John Murgel CSU Extension Horticulturist Specialist will speak about butterflies and what plants attract them. He will also answer gardening questions in our Garden Gossip.


Tuesday, July 9 -- Annual Herb Pot Luck Luncheon

Castle Rock Library 1:00pm-3:00pm

Members bring a dish that includes an herb and also bring an herb for an exchange. A fun game too!


Thursday, August 1 - OUT AND ABOUT!

Douglas County Fairgrounds, Main Exhibition Hall.

The Out and About for August is at The Douglas County Fair. We will be watching the judging of vegetables and flowers on Thursday August 1 at 1:45pm at the main Exhibition

Hall.

Photographer Tad Wheeler will teach us how to take beautiful photos in nature. 


Tuesday, September 3, 2024 -- Lisa Mason, CSU Horticulture Specialist and Entomologist, Common Bugs in Our Gardens

Castle Rock Library, Event Hall B, 1:00pm

Lisa Mason, CSU Horticulture Specialist and Entomologist will speak about the common bugs in our gardens and how to either get rid of them or live with them.

A short business meeting will follow.


Tuesday, October 1, 2024, Trees In our Area

Castle Rock Library, Event Hall A, 1:00pm-3:00pm

Tom Kern, Master Gardener at Pine Lane Nursery.

Tom will speak to us about trees for our area. He will also include best practices for planting and pruning. Time permitting, Tom will lead us in a general fall garden question discussion.

Barbara Spanuolo, Natural Resource Specialist for Castle Rock,

Barbara will give a presentation on wildlife in our area. She's an expert on how to live with them and how to manage them!

Members will bring potluck dishes to share, exchange gifts, enjoy some social time, and maybe play some Bingo!
